Information Systems Ltd, a Mumbai-based messaging software
firm announced that the Girvan Institute of Technology,
a NASA-funded technology-development firm based in Silicon
Valley, has placed an order for Geodesic’s Instant
Messaging Platform software. |
| |
| Girvan,
with headquarters in the NASA Research Park at Moffett
Field, California, creates public-private partnerships
to develop, transfer, and apply leading-edge technologies. |
| |
| Paul
Coleman, chairman and CEO of Girvan, and a NASA veteran,
said “In the main, we look for opportunities to
exploit commercially the technologies that get developed
through the outstanding research being done under the
auspices of NASA. However, occasionally we come across
a commercially-offered product that we want to consider
for applications by NASA and other agencies of the U.S.
Government. Geodesic’s Interoperable Instant Messaging
Platform is such a product.” |
| |
| Kiran
Kulkarni, Co-founder and Director, Geodesic said “This
is a vote of confidence in our innovative product technology.
Given the NASA background, they saw the importance of
interoperability, security, encryption and logging facilities.
This is an initial order to fully evaluate the software
and its capabilities, before more major decisions can
be made.” |
